GM Marketing’s Charity Golf Day 2013
August 2013 saw the return of another GM Marketing Charity Golf Day which was held at Royal Portrush’s Golf Course in Portrush, Co Antrim. This year seen the largest number of attendees and it was by far the best one we have had to date. Over 70 people took part and played the 18 holes of the Dunluce Course. Although we were hit by the wind-smacking heaving showers of the Northern Shore, it still turned out to be an excellent day of entertainment for all, full of laughs, “eeks” and “wows”.
In the evening, everybody was invited back for a BBQ with a range of salads and deli-bites, followed by a range of beautiful desserts, all brilliantly provided by the Golf Club. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended, those who sponsored each of the holes, and, those who purchased items in the auction – your contribution towards our chosen charity, “Down’s Syndrome Association” was greatly appreciated and we hope to see you all again next year!
GM Marketing Invests In Innovation and New Jobs
GM Marketing is investing £1.6 million with assistance from Invest Northern Ireland in innovative products that will also lead to the creation of 15 new jobs.
Founded in 1999 by our Managing Director Gerard McAdorey, our company specialises in marketing services for food products. It has just launched a new range of Free’ist brand sugar-free cookies, biscuits and jams.
Invest NI has offered GM Marketing £63,000 through the Jobs Fund to support the 15 new jobs. Additional support has been offered towards the branding and marketing of new food products in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, and towards the enhancement of our current information technology system.
Peter McArdle, Invest NI’s Acting Director of Food and Tourism, said: “The development of the new range marks a significant diversification by this small company into the manufacture of its own products for sale outside Northern Ireland.
“Our support is focused on encouraging and helping companies generate sales abroad leading to greater employment opportunities in Northern Ireland. These new jobs at GM Marketing, which include senior marketing posts, will generate more than £160,000 for the local economy in terms of salaries and wages.”
MD Mr McAdorey said: “Launching our own Free’ist range of branded products is an immensely important stage in the development of the company. It will position us for even faster growth in our target markets of the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
“Invest NI helped us to create a very attractive brand and packaging format for the 15-strong portfolio of products that we have developed for the sugar-free market and in particular, diabetic customers. A number of the products are also gluten free. The support will enable us to expand marketing teams in Great Britain and the Republic and to provide additional back office support for them particularly in terms of IT.”

Charity Golf Day 2012
Over the last three years the GM Marketing Charity Golf Day at Royal Portrush has proven to be a great success, both in terms of the money raised for the nominated charities and as a social event where suppliers, retailers and members from GM Marketing could relax away from their normal work environment while helping to raise money for a worthy cause. This year was no exception as GM Marketing and friends took to the links (and then the bar) in aid of The Down’s Syndrome Association N.I. We are pleased to announce that together with the Auction, over £3,700 was raised. Year on year the event gets bigger and better but the idea stays the same – having fun for a good cause! We would like to take this opportunity to thank players & sponsors alike, we’re looking forward to seeing you all again next year, along with a few new faces.
